MY PHILOSOPHY OF MUSIC EDUCATION.
I believe that music has intrinsic value and is vitally important to the healthy development of young people. Music is a universal language and reinforces other areas of curriculum such as science, language arts, math, and social studies. Music relates directly to history and cultural heritage, and facilitates the understanding of other cultures through music. The performing arts engage children in all aspects of the human experience and is a vehicle for creativity and self-expression. Music is an opportunity for visible success and achievement in the school and community. It allows students to develop life skills for personal and professional success.
I believe that it is every student's fundamental right to a music education!

MY MISSION STATEMENT.
I am committed to maintaining a creative musical environment that encourages children to love learning and music, to take musical and intellectual risks, and to treat others with respect. I strive for a flexible and motivating classroom that recognizes the different talents of all children. It is my mission for students to become lifelong learners and experience success though creating, performing, and responding to music.
